Cat-egorically the Best Cue for Cat Care
"Dr. Cookie's Guide to Living Happily Ever After with Your Cat"
VETERINARY BEHAVIORIST DR. COOKIE UNVEILS
NEWEST BOOK

DATELINE: NORWELL, MA; AUGUST 20, 2002… Dr. Stefanie Schwartz (also known as Dr. Cookie), veterinarian and veterinary behavior consultant since 1984, has released her latest book "Dr. Cookie's Guide to Living Happily Ever After with Your Cat" published by St. Martin's Press. Dr. Schwartz's latest release about cat behavior has just been nominated for a Cat Writer's Association award.

Dr. Stefanie Schwartz, known as "Dr. Cookie" by many of her clients due to her tendency to spoil her patients with pet treats (to reinforce desirable behavior, of course!), is a veterinarian with nearly 20 years experience in veterinary behavior practice. Recently nominated for an award from the Cat Writer's Association, Dr. Schwartz's latest published book "Dr. Cookie's Guide to Living Happily Ever After with Your Cat" offers wisdom and humor about how cat owners can live happily ever after with their feline friends.

SAGE ADVISOR
With her own cat family of five, Hershel Walker, Gracie Allen, Teddi Honey, Angelica Darling and Eden Serene, Dr. Schwartz shares stories of cats she has while offering sage behavioral advice for enhancing and improving the relationship between cat and owner. Using anecdotes primarily based on her patients with glimpses into her life with her own much-loved pets to illustrate important topics ranging from feline behavior problems, normal feline behavior, basic health care for kittens and golden age kitties to coping with pet loss, Dr. Cookie's heartwarming book is a delight for cat owners and animal lovers.

INTERPRETING A CAT'S TAIL
"Sara enters a room with style. She doesn't just walk in, she makes an entrance. My little princess calmly crosses the floor with her tail at half-mast until just a few feet away, it is raised high as she meows her "Hello!" Closer to me, she waves just the tip of her tail from side to side, quickstepping her dainty feet and purring a song of love…" An excerpt from the first chapter of "Dr. Cookie's Guide to Living Happily Ever After with Your Cat".

Dr. Cookie's newest book as well as her many earlier books including "First Aid for Cats" and "No More Myths: True Facts About Pet Care", can be found at better booksellers or online at Amazon.com.

As a board-certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists and one of just 30 board-certified veterinary behavior consultants in the world, Dr. Schwartz's goal is to preserve and enrich the bond between pet and owner by resolving undesirable behavior patterns in companion animals. A native of Montreal, Canada, Dr. Schwartz resides in Norwell, Massachusetts with her husband Dan, one of the Boston Police Department's finest officers. Dr. Schwartz treats behavior problems in pets statewide holding consultations by house call, clinic appointment, telephone consult and E-mail. ABOUT DR. COOKIE
Dr. Stefanie Schwartz (also known as Dr. Cookie), veterinarian and veterinary behavior consultant since 1984, offers guidance and support to bewildered, frustrated & outraged pet owners. Veterinary medicine, like human medicine, is becoming increasingly specialized. Veterinary behavior is the equivalent of psychiatry, and goes far above and beyond basic obedience training.

Dr. Schwartz, known as "Dr. Cookie" by many of her clients due to her tendency to spoil her patients with pet treats, is so strongly associated with this endearing nickname that Dr. Cookie is now her trademark. The award-winning author of many books, book chapters, and dozens of scientific journal articles, Dr. Schwartz continues to contribute new knowledge to the field of veterinary behavior.

Her goal is to preserve and enrich the bond between pet and owner by resolving undesirable behavior patterns in companion animals. Dr. Schwartz treats dogs and cats primarily, but also is successful with pet rabbits, Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs, ferrets, captive wild animals, horses, farm animals and birds.

Dr. Schwartz is Director of Behavior Services at VCA South Shore Animal Hospital in Weymouth, MA. She is also Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences at the School of Veterinary Medicine of Tufts University and active in many professional organizations. Additionally, Dr. Schwartz is the veterinary behavior consultant to Antech Laboratories, a national veterinary laboratory headquartered in California that offers specialty consults to practicing veterinarians nationwide.
